We recently moved 5Km away from the trafffic jams of the CBD to our own property in Badili, Port Moresby - Independent Views which has more than adequate space and superb views over the Coral sea.

Computerised accounting and monthly management information systems are used successfully within the firm and for various clients. Other services include installing computerised accounting systems, assisting with financial restructuring, preparing finance proposals, projected cash flows and feasibility studies and providing staff training.
Clients comprise PNG businesses large and small, Government bodies, individuals and overseas companies, many with multimillion kina turnovers. A wide range of businesses is covered including manufacturing, wholesaling, retailing, clubs, property and professional services. The firm acts for a former Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea and a number of other prominent politicians. Smiths also acts for several overseas companies operating in Papua New Guinea.
The firm is owned by Chris Smith. He started the firm in 1991 following 3 years in an accounting partnership in Port Moresby and 5 years before that in a Chartered accountancy partnership in Sydney. In Australia he obtained a Graduate Diploma in Taxation Law.
Chris qualified as a Chartered accountant in England. He worked for a top 4 firm in London before moving to Port Moresby where he also worked for a top 4 firm. He gained 4 years experience in manufacturing in Lae as a Financial controller from 1979 to 1983, where he installed complete management accounting and reporting systems, using fully computerised records.
Growth in the past few years has meant the employment of additional staff. The firm now employs more than a dozen accounting staff. Smiths believes that the quality and range of its services have been responsible for its success.
